The Time is Now: Leveraging Beyond Budgeting as part of Agile Enterprise Transformation by Jorgen Hesselberg

As organizations expand agility into the enterprise it quickly becomes clear that traditional approaches such as Scrum of Scrums and Release Trains are not sufficient. How do you move away from a fixed financial budget to create a lean and Agile product portfolio? Can you empower self-organizing teams when individually-focused Management By Objectives (MBOs) and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) rule the way the organizations measure progress?

Beyond Budgeting is a way of thinking that aligns with Agile and provides enterprises with the language, subject matter context and concrete detail necessary to address these dilemmas and complement the Agile mindset found in software and product development.

This talk will define Beyond Budgeting, highlight how it aligns with Agile as well as describe where it differs and propose an approach to taking advantage of both lines of thinking to create a holistic approach to sustainable enterprise agility.

How visualization helps navigate our complex environment by Cliff Hazell

In knowledge work, many things are typically invisible or opaque, ranging from our process, the actual work items, to our models for making sense of these. These are therefore open to assumption and misunderstanding, stemming partly from a variety of different perspectives. At Spotify, we aim to build shared views and models to reduce unnecessary ambiguity and improve our understanding, allowing us to more effectively navigate in a Complex environment. I’ll share some examples of how Spotify is using Visual techniques to learn and respond faster, including stories of our learnings along the way.

How to offshore... like a boss! by Andrew Hiles

Working with remote teams can be a challenge, being a remote team working with an offshore partner can be equally challenging. Culture, behavior, assumptions, phones, webcam's all come into play. In my session I will talk about the successes and challenges concerning off-shoring teams, and then explore what happens when you throw agile into the middle of what is essentially a simple communication game.

Agile DNA for Success in Your Business by Mehmet Yitmen

Agility or being Agile is not just about being more efficient, being more productive, being faster, being more qualified, etc. Yes, we may need these cool stuff in order to succeed but Agility or being Agile should be understood as a tool for enhancing customer experience. At the end, if you cannot satisfy your customer needs, it is no matter how efficient you are working in your office. So, the focus must be the customer first. Unfortunately, it is easy to forget about your customers and instead, focus on yourself and your processes. That’s how some of the Agile transformations have failed. In this session, I will talk about some big successful companies from different industries like Zara, Ikea and SouthWest Airlines and, explore together with you how they benefit from being Agile. I will talk about business agility that focuses on customer satisfaction and its importance for being successful in your industry no matter what it is.

Scaling Agile – different approaches for different businesses by Anders Sixtensson

A greater proportion of larger companies are in one way or another looking for ways to utilize the organizations in more effective but mostly common efficient way. Some companies have already started and work in a scaled agile environment for some time, while others are thinking of adopting some of the benefits they have seen in small teams using lean and agile as development methodology. Even if this sounds like the industry has come a long way when it comes to applying lean and agile thoughts into the organizations, this is often not the case when you take a closer look at it. This is why we see three different main ways of scaling:

Real agile – this is what agile from the beginning actually was all about, taking full responsibility from idea to payment

Scaling development pipelines – this is to scale different products or services that doesn’t have any dependencies between the products or services

Scaling structure frameworks – this is the scenario when there are lots of dependencies between products, services or smaller organizations

Every Agile Organization Deserves Great Agile Coaches by Almir Drugovic

When great coaches are having an impact, it can be felt throughout the entire organization. A culture of organizational learning isn't forced; it is developed. Team members feel they are an important part of the whole and that everyone matters. Communication is flowing naturally and effortlessly. Everyone understands the vision and goals of the organization, and everyone has a role in how we can improve.

So how can we develop from good to great Agile Coaches? In this talk, we will explore an approach to fulfilling the journey from Agile Apprentice to Master both as a process and from a technical coaching perspective. We will also delve deeper into how to develop competences and capabilities that will ensure you mature into a skilled, savvy agile practitioner. If you are one of those people who's looking to make a dent in the universe, this class is for you!

Water-Scrum-Fall by Andrew Hiles

I didn't realize 'water-scrum-fall' was an actual recognized thing, Google it, there are diagrams and everything! A few years ago I had an opportunity to change the way an organisation delivers value to its customers. I was given free reign to “go and be agile”. What happened next is a story that is told time and time again by experienced agile practitioners all over the world . The lucky few survived to write books about success. So hopefully in my session (with a bit of humor thrown in), I'll take you through my journey of Agile implementation, the pitfalls and realization of what I won't be doing next time I get the chance to save the world.

Use Game Mechanics to Change Your Business! by Bart Hufen

What can we learn from Donkey Kong and FarmVille? How can the mechanics of these games change our everyday business life and support progress? How will loop-thinking help organizations to become more agile and responsive? Gamification Guru Bart Hufen will tell you all about it in an energizing and fun presentation! Download his book ‘A Brand New Game’ for free through www.brandnewplayground.com if you like.

Make children book in 90 minutes thanks to Scrum by Enis Zeherovic

Make children book workshop participants will exercise Agile to create a children book. During the session, Scrum basics will be explained and than applied. This workshop is for those that want to learn Scrum, refresh Scrum knowledge or just want to have fun and make new friendships.

Open space - Bring your Agile questions by Nermina Durmic

Sometimes the best ideas come along in discussions with random people sharing similar passion and interests.

Open space session gives attendees a chance to raise questions they happen to struggle with on their actual projects, and to share their opinions about questions other attendees bring up. This is additional opportunity to connect with IT fellows in an interactive setting to share knowledge and best practices.

Session topics are submitted, voted on and discussed as a Scrum team like in a Spring Retrospective.

Estimates or #NoEstimates: Enes Pelko

Do we need estimates? Are the estimates abused so much that they became unusable? There is a new emerging movement behind #NoEstimates that thinks so. But is it for anyone and in any situation?

Comtrade Agile Tips and Tricks by Enisa Muratović

Many Agile teams work in our company and the majority of them are facing the same issues. We have decided to try and find a solution together within the company and prepared a list of common issues and solutions that were successful. We want to share our experience.
