SPEAKERS

Dave Snowden divides his time between two roles: founder Chief Scientific Officer of Cognitive Edge and the founder and Director of the Centre for Applied Complexity at Bangor University in Wales. His work is international in nature and covers government and industry looking at complex issues relating to strategy, organisational decision making and decision making. He has pioneered a science based approach to organisations drawing on anthropology, neuroscience and complex adaptive systems theory. He is a popular and passionate keynote speaker on a range of subjects, and is well known for his pragmatic cynicism and iconoclastic style.

In addition to his position at Bangor University he holds positions extra-ordinary Professor at the Universities of Pretoria and Stellenbosch and has held similar positions at Hong Kong Polytechnic University, Canberra University, the University of Warwick and The University of Surrey. He held the position of senior fellow at the Institute of Defence and Strategic Studies at Nanyang University and the Civil Service College in Singapore during a sabbatical period in Nanyang. 

His paper with Boone on Leadership was the cover article for the Harvard Business Review in November 2007 and also won the Academy of Management aware for the best practitioner paper in the same year. He has previously won a special award from the Academy for originality in his work on knowledge management. He is a editorial board member of several academic and practitioner journals in the field of knowledge management and is an Editor in Chief of E:CO. In 2006 he was Director of the EPSRC (UK) research programme on emergence and in 2007 was appointed to an NSF (US) review panel on complexity science research.

He previously worked for IBM where he was a Director of the Institution for Knowledge Management and founded the Cynefin Centre for Organisational Complexity; during that period he was selected by IBM as one of six on-demand thinkers for a world wide advertising campaign. Prior to that he worked in a range of strategic and management roles in the service sector. 

His company Cognitive Edge exists to integrate academic thinking with practice in organisations throughout the world and operates on a network model working with Academics, Government, Commercial Organisations, NGOs and Independent Consultants.  He is also the main designer of the SenseMaker® software suite, originally developed in the field of counter terrorism and now being actively deployed in both Government and Industry to handle issues of impact measurement, customer/employee insight, narrative based knowledge management, strategic foresight and risk management. 

The Centre for Applied Complexity was established to look at whole of citizen engagement in government and is running active programmes in Wales and elsewhere in areas such as social inclusion, self-organising communities and nudge economics together with a broad range of programmes in health.  The Centre will establish Wales as a centre of excellence for the integration of academic and practitioner work in creating a science based approach to understanding society.

  

Lemi Orhan Ergin is the managing partner and master software craftsman at ACM. He is a software craftsman, technical leader, development warrior, agile coach and trainer. Prior to his role, Lemi has worked at Sony Europe and eBay Turkey as developer, lead developer, team leader, technical coordinator, team manager, technical architect, solution architect, agile practice lead, principal developer and technical leader for 10 years.

He has a lot of hands-on experience in agile methodologies (like Scrum, eXtreme Programming and Kanban), agile transformation, software craftsmanship, lean software development, building agile ALM processes, agile software engineering practices and building a sustainable agile development culture in organizations. He has been working in Scrum teams as Scrum Master, Scrum Team Member and Agile Coach since 2008. 

He is an active member of Agile Turkey community. He is the community lead of Agile Turkey community and the product owner of the biggest agile conference in Turkey and in the region: Agile Turkey Summit. He is also the founder of Software Craftsmanship Turkey community, i.e. the only Turkish community about Software Craftsmanship. 

He writes blog posts and shares his knowledge in many different sites. He shares the slides that he presented during the talks on http://www.slideshare.net/lemiorhan. His slides are already viewed more than 700k. He was in the team for translating Agile Manifesto into Turkish. He is the official Turkish translator for Software Craftsmanship Manifesto, SOA Manifesto and Disciplined Agile Manifesto.

He meets 5-6 times a year with undergraduates regularly in the events of universities. He is a conference speaker. He already spoke in Google Developer Group (GDG) DevFest Developer Conferences 2013 & 2014, Dynamics Project Management Congress, Lean Kanban Istanbul, PhpIst14, Voxxed Day Istanbul 2015, Craftsummit15, PHPKonf15, Agile Tour Kaunas15 and tens of seminars and meetups. 

  

Denis RudonjaMSc Electrical Engineering, Department of Computer Science and Informatics. Before the start of his studies, he perfected debate (oratory and presentation) skills.

Software developer at Infobip, currently working on projects dealing with voice platform. Enjoys investigating the toughest issues for the learning opportunity they provide. Interested in all the different aspects of software development, and very passionate about product design, business development and process optimization.

Denis has a wide range of experience in the field of soft skills. Since 2008 he is a certified soft skills trainer, and his field of interest, as a trainer, are primarily based on leadership, motivation, presentation and communication skills, team management, feedback, and project management. 

Five years ago Denis adopted agile development techniques, continuous integration and significant levels of automated testing. Since then, he has been training complex teams, both large and small, and passing them agile and soft skills best practices. He delivered more than 200 trainings sessions, on 2 continents. In addition to training sessions for teams from field of software development, special engagement is achieved in educating sales teams and adapting their methods and practices to agile.

Recently, he investigated how to make team meetings more efficient, as constituent part of any agile process and very challenging topic in any team. For that purpose three meeting models are designed as a guidelines for getting better outcomes. These meeting models will be presented at his year Bosnia Agile Day.

  

Maria Ball is a certified Scrum Master, Prince 2 Practitioner and an MBA. She has been involved in managing software delivery in various BBC teams including applications supporting Red Button service, Weather and Travel apps, and business news page. More recently she has been part of Media Services team which delivers most of BBC online audio and video content to the audiences. Within her project management career Maria applied various project management methodologies putting in place processes that optimize efficiency of project teams and help teams achieve brilliant results.

  

Joey Flint is an experienced senior delivery manager with a background in software development, technical business analysis, product management and delivery management.  

 

She has worked in various industries such as academia, agencies, public and commercial service.  This has equipped her with a broad range of experience in dealing with people, change, process improvement, project scale, navigating large organisations and most of all being pragmatic and resilient.   She is qualified in traditional project management methodologies and a qualified scrum master who has hands on experience in managing software delivery using Scrum, Kanban, XP and lean.  She does not consider herself an evangelist of any one particular methodology but rather of  applying the right methodology [or combination thereof] for any particular project, team and deliverable.

 

Utpal Chakraborty is a Software Solution Expert having around 19 years of Industry Experience, currently working with Firmenich as a IT Delivery Manager.

He has also worked for Capgemini, IBM and other MNCs as an Architect and a Delivery Manager in his past assignments.

Utpal is also a Writer & Director. He is Creative Director of three parallel Bollywood movies.

He has written and directed a number of Short Films, Stage Shows and Feature Films. Having strong theater background & a stage player. Worked for couple of assignments from Bollywood & Hollywood like editing, rewriting and beautifying movie screenplays. He also worked as a faculty for screenplay writing  in a number of national & international screenplay workshops.

  

   Marcus Degerman works as an Agile Coach at Softhouse Consulting, where he has worked with companies from Telecom, Logistics, Biotech, BioPharma, and Industrial Automation. His main focus is to increase productivity and creativity by helping companies clarify priorities, reduce stress, and improve meetings.

  

Fariz Saracevic is a member of IBM Internet of Things Product Management and Design team. He is working closely with other IBM leads to define and implement IBM Internet of Things vision. Prior to this role, Fariz was responsible for IBM Cloud Managed Services, IBM Rational solution for Agile ALMJazzHub scenario design, IBM Rational solution for Collaborative Lifecycle Management (CLM) and he was part of Automated Software Quality Product Management team responsible for automated functional solutions. Fariz co-authored "Software Test Engineering with IBM Rational Functional Tester: The Definitive Resource" book and he is writer and co-writer of several articles. He is Agile thought leader and founder of the Bosnia Agile and Agile Middle East associations. Fariz is a speaker at a wide variety of world-wide conferences on the Agile topic. He holds a Master in Information Technology degree from Virginia Tech and Bachelor of Science degree from George Mason University.

  

Matteo Taddei is a Senior Manager in International Quality. He believes in defects prevention through cross-functional collaboration and process optimization.

Matteo started is career as self-made software developer in 2007 and he gradually evolved from development to testing and finally to management.

He likes travelling, meeting new people and learn new things.

  

Matteo Cavucci is a technologist which started with journalism and media, and then moved into development. He spent more than 10 years developing web products for small and large organizations, mastering web technologies as well as Agile/lean process, together with UX research and Design Thinking.

He is Senior Consultant at ThoughtWorks, helping multidisciplinary team to grow and practicing agile fluency. His passion is bridging engineering, design and digital strategy, finding a way where development, design and business can work side by side.

  

Jason Jones is a freelance Agile Coach and Change Agent with a strong technical background, currently working in Financial Services organisational transformation projects in the UK.

He started his career over 20 years ago, applying lean manufacturing practices in the UK textile industry, progressing into more technical roles as manufacturing automation and systems developed. Jason has been working in Agile software development for 12 years, with a background as a systems developer being responsible for creating a platform using Agile & Lean techniques that changed the core working practices of a top 10 UK construction company within the space of 9 months.

Jason has been technical training, soft skills and behavioral coaching for 15 years, in formal classroom style sessions, one-to-one and team & organisational coaching.

Jason is a partner at www.adaptavis.com, a consultancy of experienced agile practitioners based in London, working with global clients.

When not an Agile Skywalker, Jason is a committed father, accomplished musician drummer and occasional sky diver.

 

Adisa Sinanovic, MSc Electrical Engineering, Department of Control and Electronic. QA engineer at Comtrade for 4 years focusing on test automation. Developed and maintained automated test scripts. Almost all the time she has been working in the agile environment. Proficient in software development life cycle including test strategy preparation, test plan development, test case creation, test execution and bug tracking. She is also a certified Scrum Master and owner of ISTQB Foundation Level Certificate. Enjoy learning new tools and technologies. She is an active member of Comtrade testing community (QUEST) and one of the organizers of ShareIT Sarajevo meetups.

Amela Teftedarija, MSc Electrical Engineering, is lead QA engineer in Comtrade with 10 years of professional experience in software development industry and proficiency in automation of testing process. She is experienced in analyzing requirements and specifications, developing test plans, creating test plans and test cases, automating test scripts; i.e. expertise in all phases of SW testing lifecycle: acceptance, compatibility, functional, integration, regression, performance, GUI and smoke testing. She is certified Scrum master and owner of ISTQB Foundation Level Certificate. Currently, she is engaged in multisite agile project practicing scrum. Also, she is an active member of Comtrade testing community (QUEST) and one of the organizers of ShareIT Sarajevo meetups.

Igor Parac is an Agile enthusiast and project management practitioner. Igor started his career as a trainer on various IT syllabuses and programming courses. After several years of consulting and lecturing in ICT sector, he is turning his focus on project management and he is getting his hands on different software projects. He starts to learn and research Agile methodologies in order to drive more efficient teams and deliver high quality products. Today, Igor is working as a Project Manager for international company delivering various software components and constantly learning about new tools, tips and tricks in agile project management. Also, Igor is active contributor to the work of Bosnia Agile and PMI BH Chapter organizations.

 

Vedran Nikolic is an IT Project Manager with 5+ years of experience working with agile methodologies for software development. He currently works at Authority Partners as a Program Manager/Product Owner. During his career, Vedran worked on managing multiple large scale development projects for high profile clients in the US. He graduated from the Sarajevo School of Science and Technology.

Vedran is an Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI-ACP), Professional Scrum Product Owner and Scrum Master.

After more than ten years of being a part of the IT industry, Jovan Vidic can say that he has always loved his job and that it has always kept him going. He values cooperation and readiness to contribute, and he is convinced that knowledge is there to be shared and available to everyone.

His first experience in a leadership position on a team was at the age of 24. Since then, one of his guiding principles in both life and business has been enhancing learning. The other has been working together with his team and supporting them to grow and continuously improve.

Giving everyone an equal chance to excel is one of the things Jovan is strongly passionate about, as he is a hopeless believer in humankind and a better tomorrow. He founded the “Agile Coaching Serbia” group because he believes that everyone should have a chance to share ideas, experiences and knowledge.

  

Marco Trincardi is an Agile Coach working in XPeppers a consulting and software company focused in Agile, DevOps and Cloud.

He’s very passionate about Agile and Lean thinking, so passionate that he use a Kanban board even to plan his holiday!

Since 2003, he's involved in Agile movement, he taught and coached many teams and organizations of different size, in different domains: Telecom, Bank, Insurance, Industrial Automation, and Start ups.

In years his focus is shifted from mastering technical practices to team behavior and then to organization behavior and structure, improving his skills in introducing change in different context.

In his company he leads the team of Agile coaches.

  

Bogdan Costea is a Development Lead with over 10 years’ experience, passionate about building products, optimizing processes and creating value. I like pushing software craftsmanship, agile and lean methods on high stakes, small team, fixed deadline projects.

I act as a liaison. I guide, advise and facilitate. Hopefully while doing this I add value. Some people say that I do and who am I to disagree...

When I do get around to working hands-on, I make a fairly good architect, developer, sysadmin, DBA, technical writer and sometimes presales support for large scale enterprise applications. 

  

 

Amber Haley has worked within IT in complex environments for 13 years, with the last 8 specializing in coaching teams that do complex back end development using agile frameworks. She a highly skilled at taking teams with development problems and helping them achieve states of flow... but is more about hands on team work than blogging about ideas.. her methods are simple and easily replicated. She is certified Scrum master, Product owner, and Scrum Professional and has also completed advanced Kanban and Management 3.0 training. She has works in New Zealand and Germany for both Government and enterprise clients, and has boundless energy and passion for agile methods.
